30mm (1-3/16") lower than the original R1200 GS seat. 50mm (2") lower than the original Adventure seat. Allows improved control, especially for those with a shorter inseam. Distinctly shaped (concave) seating area. Relief of pressure on the tail bone and optimized weight distribution across the whole seat. Anyone know the seat height with the BMW low seat option for the GS1200? Presently between DS bikes, and being verically challenged, in addition to bad knees, need a DS with decent Seat height. Tried an 06 Uly with low seat but still too tall. Presently looking at 07 Uly and GS.

Nothing different on the parts fiche for the front frame. The factory lowered version was $175 extra in '08. But then of course these BMW shocks are not Hyperpro, etc. The stands cost something like 200 to 300 for both.
Anyone that's ridden more than a couple of hours at a time on the BMW seat can probably relate. Fortunately, the good folks at Corbin Motorcycle Seats have been making a better option for over 40 years now, and such is certainly true with their offering for the R1200GS. Easy to slip on in place of your original seat, far more rugged and durable
